To the above I wou'd subjoin the following lines upon the
use of tobacco in general.
Of all the weeks that Tellus's bosom yields,
Nos so pernicious to man's life is known,
As is Tobacco,---saving hemp alone;
Betwixt which two there seems great sympathy,
To ruinate poor Adam's progeny:
For both of them a strangling virtue note,
And both of them do work upon the throat.
